Description

This barn, located about 45 yards south-west of Hill Farmhouse, dates from the mid-18th century. It is timber-framed, standing three panels high, with a brick and sandstone rubble plinth, brick infill, and a slate roof. The barn consists of four bays that are aligned roughly east to west. On the north elevation, there is a cart entry in the second bay from the right, while the corresponding bay to the south features projecting double-leaved 19th-century ledged doors. Inside, there are raking struts connecting the ties to the principals. This barn is noted for being an unaltered example and forms a group with the barn located to the south-east of Hill Farmhouse, which is not included in this listing.
