Description

Tollhouse Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the 18th century. It has a timber-frame structure with brick infill and a tiled roof. The cottage features an end stack on the left and a local stone external stack with a detached brick shaft on the right. It consists of two structural bays that are roughly aligned north to south, and it has one storey and an attic.

On the west elevation, there are two mid-20th century casement windows and a late 20th century ledged door positioned to the left of center, next to the left-hand casement. The frame of the cottage is made of narrow irregular scantling, with three panels high from the cill to the wall-plate.
