Description
Crossfield is a cottage that likely dates from the 18th century. It features a rubble base, a timber frame, and brick infill panels, topped with a slate roof and a local type end stack on the left. The cottage is one storey with an attic and consists of two bays arranged east to west, with a cellar located under the eastern bay.
On the south elevation, there is late 20th-century fenestration, including a vented fixed light on the left and a 4-light casement on the right, along with a late 20th-century door positioned to the left of centre. The frame consists of three panels high from the high base to the wall-plate. The north elevation features two late 20th-century gabled dormers, and there is a low extension to the west that envelops the end stack.
