Description

The Cottage is a house, possibly dating from the early 18th century. It is timber-framed with a slate roof and an integral brick stack located on the west side of the ridge. The house is one storey and has an attic, with two bays running east to west. The south elevation features two multi-paned steel windows added in the mid-20th century at ground floor level, and two late 19th-century casement windows within symmetrically placed gabled dormers above. A central gabled porch with a glazed door, also from the mid-20th century, is present. The timber frame consists of irregular panels extending from the cill to the wall-plate, with short braces in the upper sections. A lean-to addition to the west gable, built in the early 20th century, uses weatherboards and has a corrugated iron roof. This building has group value and contributes to the character of the area.
