Description
The Old House is a house dated 1636, as indicated by the incised initials "R T" on a beam on the east gable. It features a timber-frame structure with plaster and brick infill, topped by a plain tiled roof. The building has a T-plan layout with the main range aligned east to west, comprising two storeys and attics with a 1:3 bay configuration.
On the north elevation, there are mid-20th century casement windows in the main range and one in the top of the east gable. The east elevation showcases a central blind gable supported by diagonal braces with curved V-struts, along with moulded 17th-century bargeboards and a pendant at the apex. To the right of the gable, there is a c1900 two-light casement window. The entrance is positioned to the right, featuring a c1900 gabled porch and a late 19th-century panelled door. A stack is located at the junction of the two ranges. The frame consists of four panels high to the wall-plate.
