Description

East Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the late 17th century or 18th century. It has been altered at the west end and restored in the early 20th century. The building features a timber frame with plaster infill panels and a corrugated asbestos roof, along with a local type end stack on the west side. It stands two storeys high and consists of three bays that are aligned roughly east to west.

On the south elevation, there are four early 20th-century windows, including two leaded light casements on the ground floor, which are situated under weatherings. Access to the cottage is through the left gable, which has a lean-to porch extension from the early 20th century. The frame consists of two panels high on each floor, with plank weathering to the girding beam and short braces at the junction of the centre and right-hand bays. Both gables have been heavily restored with thin scantling. Additionally, there is a pantile-roofed lean-to extension on the east gable.
