Description
Bower Cottage is a cottage, likely dating from the 16th or 17th century, with a 20th-century addition. The structure is timber-framed with plaster infill and a thatched roof, half-hipped at the front gable. It features an external stone stack with a brick shaft. The cottage is a single bay aligned east/west. The east-facing elevation displays a cruck gable framing one storey and an attic, with two windows on the left, one with two panes dating from the early 20th century, and the other a three-pane wrought iron casement with leaded outer lights. A ground-floor three-light window is located centrally, flanked by the external stack to the right. A lean-to extension is present on the right side, and a larger extension was added to the rear in the late 20th century. A mid-20th century porch projects from the left side. The timber frame on the south side of the wall rises four panels high.
