Description

Crane Hill is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with a later extension. It features square-panelled timber framing with rendered infill, a thatched roof, and red tile roofing, along with an early brick stack. The cottage has a rectangular main body and a slightly later extension to the east gable end, with one-and-a-half storeys. The earlier range has 20th-century raking rubble buttresses to the west gable. There are three two-light casement windows on the ground floor and two similar two-light casements on the first floor; all windows are 20th century with diamond-leaded panes. A 20th-century plank door is set within a 20th-century timber-framed porch with a red tile roof. A 20th-century two-light dormer window is located upper right. The later extension has a gablet with a 20th-century top-opening casement window on the ground floor. A projecting gable end stack, formerly on the main body, is now incorporated within the later extension. The interior has not been inspected.
