Description
Church Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th to early 18th century. It features square-panelled timber framing with rendered infill and some weatherboarding, topped by a thatched roof with decorative ridge thatching. The building has a rectangular plan and is one and a half storeys high, with a 20th-century conservatory added to the south gable end.
On the entrance front, there are two 2-light casements and two single-light casements on the ground floor, along with one 2-light and one 3-light eyebrow dormer on the first floor. A projecting gabled porch includes a 20th-century plank door. The garden front has two 2-light casements and a small single-light casement on the ground floor, a single-light stairlight, and one 19th-century two-light eyebrow dormer alongside one 3-light eyebrow dormer on the first floor. The upper part of the south gable end is weatherboarded and features a 3-light casement. All windows, unless otherwise noted, are 20th-century wooden casements. A large projecting stack with a brick shaft is present, possibly with a bread oven to one side. The interior has not been inspected.
