Description
Willow Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century to the mid-18th century. It features probably square-panelled timber framing that has been pebbledashed, with a limestone plinth and a thatched roof adorned with decorative ridge thatching. The building has one 20th-century brick stack and one 18th-century brick stack. The main body of the cottage is rectangular and has a slate-roofed lean-to extension at the rear, which is not of special interest. The cottage is one and a half storeys high.
The front facing the road has three 4-light oriel windows supported on wooden brackets, along with a small single-light casement window on the ground floor. There are also two 2-light eyebrow dormers with leaded panes. A 20th-century plank door with decorative hinges is located towards the left gable end, sheltered by a gabled concrete tile canopy. On the first floor of the right gable end, there is a canted 4-light oriel window set into plastered coving. The right gable end is half-hipped and has a small lean-to extension, possibly a bread oven, which features a 20th-century brick stack. The interior has not been inspected.
