Description
Greyholme is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone with finely dressed quoins and features an artificial stone slate roof and an early brick stack. The main body of the house is rectangular, with later extensions added to the rear, including a flat-roofed studio and a garage extension to the left gable end, which are not of special interest.
The house has two storeys and an attic, with a symmetrical facade that includes two windows. On the ground floor, there are two three-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned windows with stopped hoods, one of which is taller than the other. The first floor has two similar two-light windows. The central entrance features a 20th-century plank door with four glazed panes.
The left gable end has a two-light stone-mullioned window with a stopped hood and a blocked ventilation slit above it with a projecting sill. The right gable end has a single-light window with a stone surround and moulded hood, along with a blocked ventilation slit above it. The house has an off-the-ridge stack and stepped gable-end coping with roll-cross saddles. The interior has not been inspected.
