Description
Laburnum is a house dating from the mid 17th century. It features square-panelled timber framing, which is mostly rendered, although a small area at the rear remains exposed and is partly rebuilt or clad in brick. The house has a red tile roof, which was formerly thatched, and includes brick stacks. It has a rectangular plan and stands at one and a half storeys high.
On the ground floor, there are three 19th-century two-light wooden casement windows, and above, three tall eaves dormers with glazed sides, all of which have horizontal glazing bars. The central entrance is a 19th-century four-panelled door set within a heavy pegged frame. There is a slight projection in the wall to the right of the door, suggesting the possible location of a bread oven. The house has gable-end and axial stacks. Inside, the interior features intersecting beams with deep flat chamfers.
