Description
Number 20 Cleeveland Cottage is a semi-detached cottage that is attached to Number 18, Cleeveland Cottage. It dates from the mid 17th century to early 18th century. The cottage features square-panelled timber framing with rendered infill on a rendered plinth, and the south-facing gable end is made of coursed squared and dressed limestone. It has a stone slate roof and a 20th-century rubble stack. The building has a rectangular plan with a timber-framed extension at right angles to the rear, which has its gable end facing the road.
The cottage is one and a half storeys high. On the east-facing elevation, there is an 8-pane oriel window supported on straight brackets. To the right, there is a 20th-century plank door with two frosted glass panes. A 20th-century flat-roofed two-light roof dormer is also present. The gable end facing the road features a small single-light round-headed window with carved spandrels. The ground floor of the timber-framed extension has two fixed 4-pane windows, and there is a 2-light wooden casement window in the gable. The interior has not been inspected.
