Description
Number 18, known as Cleeveland Cottage, is a semi-detached cottage that is attached to Number 20, also called Cleeveland Cottage. It dates from the 17th century and was extended in the 19th century. The cottage features square-panelled timber framing that has been extended or partly encased in coursed square and dressed limestone from the 19th century. It has a stone slate roof with a stump of a coursed squared and dressed limestone stack. The building has a rectangular plan and is two storeys high.
On the north front, there is a 20th-century six-pane window and a two-light casement on the ground floor. The upper floor has a three-light raking dormer and a large flat-roofed dormer with two two-light casements, along with a central plank door. The south front has two windows, which are lit by two-light stone-mullioned casements. A 20th-century part-glazed panelled door has been inserted in the east gable end, which also features a projecting gable-end stack. The interior has not been inspected.
