Description
The Thatched Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century with a 20th-century extension, located in Oxenton Village. It features square-panelled timber framing with rendered infill and a thatched roof adorned with decorative ridge thatching, along with a rendered stack. The building has a rectangular plan, with the main body consisting of 16 storeys and a single-storey 20th-century extension on the right gable end.
On the ground floor of the main body, there are two 20th-century wooden casements: one is a 2-light window, and the other, which projects out at the center to the left, is also a 2-light casement. Above these, there is a small 2-light 19th-century eyebrow dormer with horizontal glazing bars. The 20th-century extension has a two-light wooden casement, and all ground floor casements feature diamond-leaded panes. Additionally, there is a six-panelled door leading to a small lean-to extension at the left gable end, positioned to the left of a large projecting stack. The interior has not been inspected.
