Description
Rose Cottage is a detached cottage that dates from the 17th century and has 20th-century alterations and extensions. It features square-panelled timber-framing with brick infill, a rendered extension, and a thatched roof adorned with decorative ridge thatching. The building has a random limestone stack with a 20th-century brick shaft and a 20th-century brick stack. The main body of the cottage is rectangular, with a 20th-century extension at the rear left, creating an overall 'L'-shaped plan. The cottage has one and a half storeys.
The roadside front includes two 20th-century nine-pane windows and one 20th-century top-opening six-pane window, along with three 20th-century eyebrow dormers. All windows feature glazing bars. There is a part-glazed lean-to porch with a 20th-century fielded panelled door. A projecting lateral stack is located to the right of the porch, while a large projecting stack is found at the left gable end. The interior has not been inspected.
