Description

Brookside is a cottage that likely dates from the 18th century, with later extensions added in the 20th century. It features a timber-frame construction and a plain tiled roof, with a brick end stack to the south that has a detached shaft. The building is arranged in three bays, oriented roughly north to south, and consists of one storey plus an attic.

On the west elevation, there is a regular arrangement of late 20th-century windows, three flat-top dormers, and an entrance located in a late 20th-century rendered single-storey extension. The timber frame consists of two panels high from the cill to the wall-plate. Inside, the cottage has collar trusses with interrupted tie-beams. The building was thatched until around 1960.
