Description
Little Durance is a house that likely dates from the 17th century and has been extended in the early and late 20th century. It features a timber-frame structure with brick and plaster infill, a thatched roof, and a local stone stack with a detached brick chimney at the west end. The later extensions are made of rendered brick and have plain tiled roofs. The original timber-framed section consists of two bays oriented east to west, with a 20th-century cross-wing added to the east end. The west part has one storey and an attic, while the east cross-wing has two storeys.
On the south elevation, there is one late 20th-century two-light casement window on either side of a central glazed late 20th-century door, along with two mid-20th-century casements in eyebrow dormers. The cross-wing features a late 20th-century fixed light window in the gable and multi-paned French casements on the ground floor. The north elevation has a mid-20th-century lean-to extension that conceals the timber-frame, which consists of three panels from the cill to the wall-plate.
