Description
The barn at Hill Farm, located immediately to the front right of the farmhouse, dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed of rubble limestone with stone slate eaves courses and a pantile roof. The barn has two storeys and six bays, with an additional bay on the left. It features large quoins and a cart entrance to the right of the center, which has a cambered wood lintel. To the left of the entrance, there is a door with a slatted casement beside it, and another door beyond. The barn includes slit vents on both the ground and first floors, as well as a boarded hatch on the first floor to the right. The roof has shaped kneelers and gable copings but is in very poor condition as noted during the last survey. Inside, the barn has collared principal-rafter roof trusses, and there are 20th-century additions to the rear that are not of special interest.
