Description
Ye Old Stables is a late 18th-century building that was originally part of a stable block and is now a house. It is constructed from rubble limestone and has a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has seven bays. There is an ashlar plinth at the base. The second, fourth, and sixth bays feature 20th-century part-glazed doors with fanlights that have radial glazing bars, all topped with renewed brick arches connected by a continuous impost band. The other bays have 30-pane sash windows with similar fanlights and round arches. The first-floor windows are 20-pane sashes with projecting sills and old brick arches. The right side of the building has shaped kneelers and gable copings, while there is a small rebuilt ridge stack located to the left of the centre. This building was once part of a larger 16-bay block, most of which has been significantly altered. Ye Old Stables is included in the listing for its group value.
