Description
The barn and stables to The Old House date from the late 18th century and are built from coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings. The roofs are covered with Collyweston slate, and the stables feature earthenware ridge louvres. The structure has a courtyard plan and includes a single-storey, tall one-bay barn with a full-height central opening and vertical breathers. Inside, there is a seven-bay crown post softwood roof. To the left, there is an L-shaped range of single-storey stables, which has a planked door on the gable and a blocked door on the side, along with another planked doorway flanked by single louvred lights. To the right, there is a range at right angles that features five planked doors and two louvred openings. All openings are topped with segmental ashlar heads.
