Description
Hall Farmhouse, stables, and barn is an 18th-century house that was remodeled in the 20th century. It is built of coursed limestone rubble with a slate roof and features brick and stone stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan, is two storeys tall with an attic, and has six bays. The doorway in the second bay from the left has a wood lintel, a six-panel door, and a flat timber hood supported by scroll brackets. There are three-light windows on either side of the doorway, also with wood lintels and old iron casements. Similar windows are found in the right bay and the third bay from the right. The second bay from the right has two-light wood casement windows with wood lintels on both the ground and first floors. Other first-floor windows are three-light with wood lintels, some featuring old iron casements. The gable ends are coped with kneelers. At the rear, there is a wing that houses the stable and barn, which dates from the 18th century and is constructed of coursed squared limestone and ironstone with a slate roof. This wing is two storeys tall and has seven bays, with a coped gable end and kneelers. Inside, there are chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace in the hall, which has been altered in the 20th century. The interiors of the stables and barn have not been inspected. The buildings are included for their group value.
