Description

Home Farmhouse and granary is a house dating from the 17th century, with a date of 1657 marked on a sundial. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, banded with ironstone, and features squared ironstone quoins and dressings. It has an old tile roof with flanking brick and stone stacks. The house is two storeys high with an attic and consists of three bays.

The central doorway has a wooden lintel and a square stone hood, topped with a gabled timber hood. It features a 20th-century half-glazed door with sidelights. On either side of the doorway are three-light stone mullioned windows with square hoods, and similar windows are found on the first floor. A stone sundial is positioned between the left and centre bays on the first floor. The gable ends are coped with kneelers, and there is a one-light stone framed attic window on the right side and a two-light stone mullioned attic window on the left side.

The interior has not been inspected. Adjoining the rear is a former granary from the 17th century, built with similar materials and covered with a corrugated asbestos roof. It has a central doorway with a wooden lintel and a plank door, along with a 20th-century side light. There is also an entrance on the left side, approached by stone steps, which features a plank door and wooden lintel.
