Description
Park Corner Farmhouse and stables is a detached house that incorporates former stables, dating from the early 19th century. It is built of random rubble limestone with dressed quoins and features red brick chimneys. The layout includes a central staircase hall with one room on either side and a two-storey structure with an attic. The two-storey stable wing creates an L-shape.
The south front has four windows and an off-centre porch entry. All windows have metal casements, mostly with rendered timber lintels. The porch features a gabled parapet with a chamfered three-centred arch, and the entrance has a six-panel door, with the lower four panels fielded and the upper two glazed. There are three brick chimneys at the ridge and a single-storey outshut at the west end.
The east end gable is blank, while the front of the former stables faces east. It has two stable doorways on either side of a central stone loft stairway, which has a lipped upper landing. All doorways have plank doors and timber lintels, with stone relieving arches over the ground floor openings. The ground floor windows feature six-pane timber casements, alternating with doorways, while the loft has four-pane casements. There is an ashlar chimney at the north gable end of the stable wing, and an altered outshut runs along the west side of the former stable wing.
