Description
Dorvel House is a detached house dated 1818, featuring the initials R H (Hancock) on the gable of the right-hand dormer. The main front is faced with rubble stone in incised render, and it has a Cotswold stone-slate roof with two stone gable stacks. The building has a T-plan layout with a lower additional wing on the right side. It stands two storeys tall with an attic, which includes three gabled dormers at the eaves level. There are three sash windows on the upper floor, with the central window being narrower. The ground floor has similar windows and a central door that is panelled with three small lights at the top. Inside, the house retains much of its original joinery and features a stone flag floor throughout the ground floor. At the rear of the building, there is a finely built circular stone well that is 24 meters deep.
