Description

Rectory Farmhouse and stables is a house that dates back to the 17th century and was enlarged and remodeled in the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a thatched roof and features brick and stone stacks. The building is designed in an L-shape, with two storeys and an attic, and comprises two bays.

The doorway located in the left bay has a wooden lintel, a four-panel door, and an arched timber hood supported by brackets. To the right of the doorway, there is a three-light casement window with a wooden lintel. On the first floor, there is a small two-light casement window with a wooden lintel in the right bay. Additionally, there is a large 19th-century two-light casement window to the left, accompanied by a wooden lintel above a blocked window to its left.

The early 18th-century gabled wing extends from the left side of the main structure and is made from similar materials. This wing also has two storeys and an attic, with one bay and features three-light windows with wooden lintels and old iron casements on both floors.

Inside, the building contains a set of stop-chamfered beams. The stables, which are attached to the left wing at the rear, likely date from the 18th century and were partly rebuilt in brick during the 19th century. They have a slate roof and feature plank stable doors with wooden lintels facing the farmyard.
