Description

Hill Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed from coursed squared limestone and coursed rubble, topped with an artificial stone slate roof and featuring brick and stone stacks. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has four bays.

The entrance is located in the second bay from the right and features a wooden lintel above a four-panel half-glazed door. To the right of the entrance, there is a three-light casement window with a wooden lintel. The window to the left has a plain stone frame with a square hood and a 20th-century two-light casement window. In the second bay from the left, there is another 20th-century two-light casement window with a wooden lintel, while the left bay has a blocked window with a plain stone frame. On the first floor, there is a two-light window with a 20th-century casement and a wooden lintel in the left bay, and a two-light window with a stone mullion and a moulded stone frame in the second bay from the left. The other first-floor windows have wooden lintels and 20th-century wooden casements. The gable ends are coped and feature kneelers. The rear elevation retains a set of stone mullioned windows. The interior has not been inspected, but it is said to contain a 17th-century stone fireplace.
