Description
Hazle Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of timber-frame and sandstone rubble, topped with a slate roof and stone stacks that have brick shafts. The building has a T-plan layout with a cross-wing at the north end and stands two storeys high.
The facade features two windows with 19th-century casements; one is located at the gable front on the first floor, while the other is on the left side of the main range. There is also a segmentally-headed ground-floor window to the right in a 19th-century extension. The gable front shows weathering to the exposed timber-framing, which consists of four panels high to the tie-beam. On the north side, there is a large stone external stack, and the entry is located on the east side of the main range.
