Description
George's Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It features a sandstone rubble plinth and is constructed with a timber frame that has brick infill. The cottage has a raised slate roof and a stone end stack that includes an apsidal bread oven and a brick chimney. It consists of two bays that are roughly aligned east to west and has a cellar beneath the eastern bay, with two storeys in total.
On the north elevation, there is one early 20th-century window with four panes located on the ground floor to the left, and another similar window on the first floor to the left of centre. The timber frame consists of four panels high from the plinth to the original wall-plate, with an additional half panel added above. There is an entrance in a central gabled tiled porch on the south side, which dates from the early 20th century.
