Description

This is a field barn, likely built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from sandstone rubble with brick dressings and has a corrugated asbestos roof. The barn has three bays that are aligned from west-south-west to east-north-east. The north elevation features a full-height cart entry with a cambered head in the center bay, along with six ventilator slits that have brick surrounds, arranged in two rows of three on each side. Inside, there are high brick plinths that contain the threshing floor, and pegged raking struts connect the ties to the principals. The barn is prominently located on the eastern edge of the Woolhope Dome.
