Description
The premises of Mr. A. Taylor is a house, likely built in the 18th century. It features a timber frame with plaster and breeze block infill set on a high sandstone rubble plinth. The roof is made of corrugated asbestos, and there is an external stone end stack with a detached brick shaft. The building consists of two structural bays that are aligned east to west, with a basement, one storey, and an attic.
The south elevation facing the road has four evenly spaced 19th-century casement windows, each with two lights, located in the middle row of panels. There is a central ledged door that provides access to the basement below. Entry to the main floor is through a 20th-century glazed door located in the left gable. The frame of the building is three panels high from the cill to the wall-plate, and the gables feature V-struts that connect the collars to the principals.
