Description

The Barrett monument is a chest tomb located about one yard south of the central lancet of the south aisle of the Church of St George. It commemorates Richard Barrett, who died in 1794. The tomb is made of sandstone ashlar and features a moulded capping with a simple raised inscription panel that has moulded surrounds. This monument is one of a group of four chest tombs, which also includes those for Burrup, Hooper, and John Wheeler.
