Description
Hallend Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse with late 19th-century extensions. It is constructed of brick and features a stone porch, a hipped roof, and end stacks. The building stands two storeys high and has a three by two bay layout, with glazing-bar sash windows set under gauged brick heads. The porch is supported by two Tuscan columns and includes a glazed door with a fanlight. An extension to the north showcases a dentilled brick eaves cornice.
To the east-north-east of the farmhouse, there is a wall, railings, gates, and gate piers. The railings and two-leaved gates are adorned with spear-heads, featuring two horizontal bars on the railings and four on the gates, with diagonal reinforcing bars at the bottom. The gate piers are topped with urn finials, and there is a coped dwarf wall approximately 2 feet 6 inches high beneath the railings. A single-leaf matching gate is located adjacent to the house. The farmhouse is said to have been built in 1824.
