Description
The Steps is a cottage, likely built in the 18th century. It features a timber-frame structure with brick infill, a corrugated iron roof, and a brick stack at one end. The building consists of two structural bays that are aligned roughly east to west and has one storey with an attic. The front has one window, with two early 20th-century casements on the ground floor. There is a gabled dormer to the left of centre that contains a steel casement window from the mid-20th century, and a gabled porch also to the left of centre. Attached to the left is a single-storey extension with one window, built in the early 20th century, featuring a tiled roof that covers the end stack, which likely has sandstone visible towards its base. The east gable facing the road displays three rows of weathering and V-struts from the collar.
