Description
Edward's Barn is a field barn dating from the 17th century, with additions from the 18th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and has a corrugated metal roof. The barn has three main bays aligned in a north-east to south-west direction, which has been extended by an additional three bays to the south-west and a single bay to the north-east. The south-east section features a central threshing floor and includes two framed doorways in the front of the central earlier bays. On the north-west side, there are two 4-light wooden diamond mullioned windows. The north-east bay has an open lower floor. The later sections of the barn are supported by inclined strut trusses, while the earlier section features collar and tie-beam trusses.
