Description
Gumbersland Barn is a field barn dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of random rubble stone with dressed quoins and features a gabled pantiled roof that has coping at the north-west end. The barn consists of five bays and includes a two-bay lean-to on the south-east side. There is a prominent central gabled cart entrance on the north-west side, as well as a lower cart entrance with double doors on the south-east. The walls are equipped with arrowslit ventilation slits and there are openings in the gable ends. Inside, the barn has a chamfered oak roof with collar beams, two tiers of purlins, and original rafters. The floors of both the main barn and the lean-to are made of stone cobbles.
