Description
The Child Development Centre is a late 18th-century dwelling that is attached to Birchfield House. It features a rendered and ashlared exterior with a Welsh slate roof and gable stacks. The building is a plain block positioned against the gable wall of Birchfield House, with a two-windowed addition on the right side. It stands two storeys high and has three original twelve-pane sash windows on the front, along with a central six-panel flush door that is partly glazed and topped with a fanlight. The rear of the building also has six original twelve-pane windows. Together with Birchfield House, this structure makes a significant architectural statement alongside a very narrow road.
