Description
The Admirals is a dwelling that dates from the 17th century, with later additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and features Welsh slate roofs. The building has one large external eaves stack that includes a bread oven and two diagonal brick flues near the entrance. The original 17th-century block is 2½ storeys high and has various windows, including 2 and 3-light chamfered stone mullioned casements with drip and flush cills in the gable on the left side, as well as similar 1 and 2-light windows on the main front flanking the stack. The extension to the right has a coped gable with a flue and includes one rectangular light in a chamfered stone surround. The entrance is now located in a 20th-century porch extension to the left of the main gable. The interior has not been inspected, but it features some chamfered beams, a fine 19th-century door with long right-angle hinges, and an original roof structure.
