Description

Sladbrook Cottage is a late 18th century or early 19th century dwelling that was originally a cottage and mill, previously indicated as a smithy. The building features a rendered exterior with an asbestos cement slate roof on the right side and a triple Roman tile roof on the left. The original cottage, located on the right, is two storeys high with three windows, which are 12-pane sashes set on stone cills. The windows are adorned with striated stone voussoirs and a decorative keystone. The central entrance consists of a six-panel moulded door with a fanlight above, and it is sheltered by a flat stone hood supported by consoles. To the left, there is a long, painted rubble wing that is also two storeys tall, featuring various openings, including a small two-light shuttered window beneath a segmental head. At the back of the cottage, the roof slopes down, and part of the building extends over Mork Stream.
