Description
The Old Forge is a cottage that was originally a smithy, dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The building has a two-unit plan and is positioned at right angles to the road. It stands two storeys tall, with the south-east front displaying integral brick end stacks. The front has two windows, each with 2-light wooden casements and wooden lintels. To the right, there is a two-panelled half-glazed door, also with a wooden lintel. Adjoining to the left is a one-storey former smithy that has 20th-century French casements. The interior has not been inspected.
