Description
Ivy House and Ivy Cottage are a house and cottage dating from the mid-18th century, with some late 19th-century alterations to the cottage. The house is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof. It has a two-unit plan and is two storeys high, with integral brick end stacks that have weatherings. The front has two windows, each with 2-light wooden casements and wooden lintels. There is a central boarded door also with a wooden lintel, and a late 19th or 20th-century gabled rustic porch. To the right, there is a one-storey addition that is set back and has a French casement. The lower cottage, which adjoins to the left, is made of coursed limestone rubble with red brick dressings and has a 20th-century machine tile roof. It also has a two-unit plan and is two storeys high, featuring an integral brick end stack to the right. The first floor has a pair of 2-light wooden casements with wooden lintels, while the ground floor has a 2-light wooden casement to the right, a boarded door with a segmental brick-arched head to the left, and another boarded door with a wooden lintel. The interiors have not been inspected, but the buildings are included for their group value.
