Description

Showers Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with later 19th-century and mid-20th-century repairs. It is timber-framed with rendered and painted brick infill, set on a rubble plinth, and has a machine-tile roof. The house has two framed bays aligned north/south, with a lean-to against the north gable and a rubble south gable featuring a chimney stack.

The east front is single storey with an attic, lit by two gabled dormers. The ground floor has a three-light casement window to the left and a two-light casement window to the right, both protected by plank weatherings. The entrance is slightly left of centre and includes a gabled tiled porch with a half-glazed door. A framed lean-to on the right side has a window with a boarded shutter. The timber framing is arranged in four square panels in height. The north gable truss features three struts to the collar, with V-struts in the apex, and trenched purlins.
