Description

This barn, located about 30 yards west of Woodseaves Farmhouse, is likely from the 17th century. It features a timber frame built on a rubble base, with weatherboarding and some sections of rubble walling, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The barn has three framed bays oriented from north-west to south-east, with a central wagon bay that includes opposing cart entries and a raking-top roofed midstrey on the north-west side. Inside, the wall framing consists of probably three panels extending from the sill to the wall plate. The roof has undergone some alterations, including changes to the south-east end truss, and there are two intermediate tie-beam trusses with raking struts. The barn is prominently positioned near Woodseaves Farmhouse, contributing to its group value.
