Description
School House is a 17th-century building with some early 19th-century and late 20th-century alterations. It features a timber frame with painted brick and rendered infill beneath a slate roof. The structure consists of two framed bays aligned east to west, with rubble gable-end stacks topped by brick shafts. The north front, which faces the schoolyard, is two storeys high and has two 2-light casements above two 3-light casements. The west gable, which faces the street, has been refaced in coursed rubble and includes a 2-light casement with a segmental head on the first floor. The entrance is located in an outshut to the right, featuring a pointed head under a Gothic-style gabled canopy. The framing consists of four square panels, and the east gable end has two struts to the collar and V-struts in the apex.
