Description
Dilwyn Voluntary Contribution School is a school building from the early 19th century, with extensions added in the mid-19th century and some alterations from the mid-20th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and has a slate roof. The building is L-shaped, with the earlier section extending to the north and the later section to the east.
The west front features a single storey with a brick stack on the right-hand gable. The left-hand gable is topped with a bellcote that has a square-headed opening containing one bell. To the left of the center, there is a window with two four-centred lights and a square head, complete with a label. To the right, a large three-light stone mullioned window can be found. The central entrance includes a porch that mirrors the design of the nearby church, featuring a two-centred arch that is continuously chamfered on each side. The building is noted for its group value with other structures in the area.
