Description

Nos. 28 and 29 are a pair of estate houses built in the late 19th century. They are constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and feature a steeply pitched slate roof. The houses have a chamfered plinth and shouldered coped gables with kneelers. There are two large side wall stacks and a single rear ridge stack. The buildings are two storeys high and arranged in a T-plan with three bays.

Most of the windows are mullioned and transomed casements. The symmetrical front has a recessed central bay with flanking projecting gabled wings. The central doorway is four-centred arched and set in an ashlar surround, flanked by single casements. Above the doorway, there is a slate-roofed porch supported by curved timber brackets. Beyond the porch, there are two casements with hood moulds. Above, a central gabled cross eaves dormer is flanked by single stepped head casements, also with hood moulds. The gable ends display diaper work.

At the rear, there is an attached outbuilding made of brick with a slate roof, featuring a single external gable stack and a single casement.
