Description

This is a group of four estate cottages built in the late 19th century. They are constructed of brick and feature steeply pitched roofs covered in fishscale slate. The cottages have ashlar dressings and a chamfered plinth. The gables are shouldered and coped, with kneelers and finials. There are two large grouped ridge stacks that were rebuilt in the 20th century. Most of the windows are mullioned and transomed casements with hood moulds, while the doors have four-centred arches.

The cottages are two storeys high, plus attics, and consist of eight unequal bays. The symmetrical main front has two doors, which are flanked by two-storey projecting gabled bays with single casements. Beyond these are similar single casements, followed by setback two-storey gabled porches with single doors. Above the doors, there is a central pair of casements flanked by single stepped head casements, and beyond that, another single casement. Further along, there are small single casements in porches, and above these, single breathers in the gables and four gabled dormers.

In addition to the cottages, there are matching outbuildings that are single storey. These outbuildings feature a projecting central bay, five doors, and six small casements, along with a single off-centre ridge stack.
