Description

The remains of Lincoln Terrace, garden benches, and dock are located on the north side of Clumber Lake and date from the late 19th century. The structure is built of ashlar and brick, featuring ashlar coping. The terrace is approximately 60 meters long and includes a central landing stage that projects outward, with curved flanks, central steps, and flanking walls that have chamfered coping and square piers. At the end of the terrace is a curved terminal with ramped coping and square piers. On the left side, there are steps flanked by walls with moulded arrises and four matching square piers. Beyond this, there is a pair of semi-circular garden benches with scrolled ends designed as winged lions, featuring marble seats and inlaid panelled backs. To the right, smaller steps lead to another pair of garden benches with scrolled ends and lion's head finials, also with marble seats and inlaid panelled backs. Further along, there is a rectangular dock made of brick with chamfered ashlar coping.
