Description

The walled kitchen garden, palm house, and vineries are structures from the late 18th century and late 19th century, restored in the mid-20th century. They are built from red brick and ashlar, featuring 4-meter high brick walls that were raised in the late 19th century and topped with ashlar coping. The garden is arranged in a square shape, with a central dividing wall that has a gateway. This gateway is flanked by two large cross-plan brick gatepiers, which have ashlar pulvinated bands and are topped with square domes. The north wall, dating from the late 19th century, includes a central half-octagonal palm house, with large lean-to vineries on either side that extend the full length of the wall. The palm house has low brick walls and a glazed upper cupola. The southern garden is divided into squares, and the southern wall also features a gateway with two large cross-plan ashlar gatepiers, similar to those on the north wall, complete with pulvinated bands and square domes.
