Description
The stable courtyard and vicarage, now offices, were constructed in the 18th and 19th centuries within Clumber Park. They are built of brick with slate roofs, featuring a brick plinth, dentillated eaves, a first floor and eaves band, two rear wall stacks, seven ridge stacks, and two gable stacks. The main south front displays an irregular facade with a centrally positioned round arched carriage entrance flanked to the left by three casement windows and a 20th-century door. A projecting wing is present to the left of the entrance, with a single casement window and two blank panels. Remains of a link with four unglazed openings are visible to its left. Above, there are four blank panels, a single casement window, and two unglazed openings.
The vicarage, situated on the right side of the south front, has a gabled central bay flanked by projecting gabled bays. It features a central canted bay window with a parapet and three glazing bar sashes, flanked to the left by two similar sashes, a single door, and to the right by two similar sashes, all with rubbed brick heads. An adjacent chamfered ashlar doorway with overlight leads to a lean-to extension with a single casement window. Above, a central French window is flanked to the left by two and to the right by three smaller glazing bar sashes. The rear elevation presents an irregular fenestration pattern. The remaining ranges face into a central courtyard.
The 18th-century west range has a projecting, pedimented central bay flanked by lower, two-storey wings with square corner pavilions. A central, round arched, three-bay arcade frames a mullioned and transomed glazing bar casement, flanked by two stable doors and single glazing bar casements. Single stable doors occupy the return angles. Above, three cross-transomed casements are present. The late 19th-century north range comprises a central, two-storey gatehouse with a central round arched carriage entrance and flanking wings containing 11 windows and two doors. Above, 14 plain sashes are visible.
The east range features a late 19th-century section to the left, with two plain sashes flanked by single doors, and four plain sashes above. A lower 19th-century section to the right has a projecting, pedimented central bay and three segmental headed carriage doors, with four plain sashes above. An 18th-century section, to the right again, includes a two-storey wing and a square pavilion. An off-centre door is flanked to the left by two mullioned and transomed casements and to the right by a single glazing bar casement and two mullioned and transomed casements. Above, to the left, there are three mullioned and transomed casements, and to the right, a blocked opening is flanked by single glazing bar casements.
